ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – After the Lahore High Court dismissed a petition against appointment of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as deputy prime minister on Thursday, a citizen moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday. 

Fahad Shabbir through Advocate Nadeem Sarwar submitted that the appointment was a violation of Article 4 of the Constitution. He said the federal government violated the constitution by appointing Dar as deputy prime minister. 

The petitioner prayed that the notification of Dar’s appointment be declared null and void and he be barred from work till the final decision of the case.

Principal secretary to the prime minister, Cabinet Division secretary and Ishaq Dar have been made parties in the petition.
